Singapore: The German Institute of Science and Technology held its Students Orientation Session for the new batch of Master students on Friday 3 August 2007 at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Dr Markus Wächter Managing Director GIST welcomed students of the Industrial Chemistry and Integrated Circuit Design programmes at this occasion.
This annual event serves as an introduction to GIST and also to Singapore as most students enrolled in the programmes hail from different countries. The current academic year has students from India, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and the UK.
Representatives from NUS and Nanyang Technological University together with GIST alumni gave the students an overview of particular aspects of their programme and also introduced them to life in Singapore. The Orientation was followed by a City Tour during which students experienced the richness of cultures and traditions unique to Singapore. |
